Police warn public to stay back as they spend several hours dealing with incident involving man

A man has been arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill in connection with an incident in the early hours of Sunday morning which prompted police to warn the public to avoid the area. Officers from Dyfed-Powys Police attended an incident in St David’s Road in Milford Haven at 11.14pm.

At 2.55am, the police posted on social media asking people to avoid the area as they dealt with the “ongoing incident”. They made an arrest half an hour later, after stating that a man had resisted officers’ attempts to engage with him over the course of several hours.

As the incident was ongoing, police said they were concerned for the man’s welfare, and also for the safety of members of the public. A statement from Dyfed-Powys Police read: “A man has been arrested following an incident in St David’s Road, Milford Haven. Police were called to an address at 11.14pm due to concerns for the welfare of a resident, however, he resisted their attempts to engage with him.
